Yes We Can. And We Did.

President-Elect Barack Obama.

America, we have come so far. We have seen so much. But there is so much more to do. So tonight, let us ask ourselves — if our children should live to see the next century…what change will they see? What progress will we have made?

This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment. This is our time — to put our people back to work and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the American Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth — that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can’t, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people:

Yes We Can.

Thank you, God bless you, and may God Bless the United States of America.

I’ve never been so proud of my country, and I’ve never been so optimistic about its future. Tears welled up in my eyes a few times tonight.

It’s not even so much about the election of our first minority President. It’s about the promise of real hope, a leader that will bring out the best in a nation and its people. For everything that was wrong with the leaders in our past, he is what’s right, he is what we need…now more than ever.

I feel very, very fortunate to be alive at this time in American history. This is the start of something very new, very different, and very huge.

God bless Barack Obama, and God bless the United States of America.

  1. Oh man I’ve been laughing and crying with joy for nearly 24 hours now. I am so so so happy to be alive and to have voted for hope over fear, for change over stagnation and for a man as intelligent and amazing as Barack Obama as our 44th President.

  2. 68% approval rating already and he hasn’t taken over the oath. Good luck in getting tickets for the inauguration. Yes, they are hard to come by and even if its a blizzard out on that day. I will be outside standing all wrapped up like the kid in “A Christmas Story”.

    This is historical.
